Three sensitivity analyses produced results consistent with the main analysis. The analysis used time-dependent survival modeling with death treated as a competing risk and changing exposure and comorbidity status over follow-up. The study used the French SNDS reimbursement system, which covers nearly all of the French population. The included cohort consisted of 72,724 adults hospitalized for a first ischaemic stroke in 2014-2015.
