Redox Timing

High-dose vitamin C can be used after ozone therapy as a chaser. Vitamin C before ozone therapy is discouraged because it can block the intended peroxide-mediated response. Glutathione after ozone may produce a similar redox effect and amplify peroxide signaling. Pre-treatment vitamin C may cause ozone to react with vitamin C instead of forming lipid peroxides. Vitamin C after ozone is described as interacting with already formed peroxides to create a redox shift.
