Reflective Learning

Collaborative reflection was central to learning from simulation. Group reflection helped students see multiple perspectives, identify performance gaps, and recognise team strengths. The TALK debriefing tool gave students a structured sequential framework for analysing actions and decisions. Reflection during the assessment was sometimes constrained by time pressure and competing demands to listen and write. Emotional intensity in high-fidelity simulation could impede reflective dialogue after the scenario.
