Combined TAP and rectus sheath block may reduce systemic opioid requirements and dampen pain-driven sympathetic activation during emergence. Absence of abdominal field block was independently associated with composite inadequate emergence. Combined TAP and rectus sheath blocks were the principal regional analgesic technique in the cohort.
