rPPG is presented as non-invasive, contactless, low cost, convenient and capable of measuring multiple physiological parameters simultaneously. At the time of the protocol, rPPG had not yet been investigated in paediatric patients despite acceptable adult reliability and accuracy. Remote photoplethysmography uses a camera rather than a contact sensor to estimate physiological signals.
