Mean age increased as the number of previous abortions increased. Multiparity and caesarean delivery history were more frequent among women with repeated abortions in descriptive comparisons. The study interprets the parity findings as evidence that pregnancy history and abortion patterns interact in complex ways. Gravidity of at least two was strongly associated with prior abortion in regression analysis. After adjustment, parity of one and parity of two or more were associated with lower odds of prior induced abortion.
