Reproductive Rights

Women wanted autonomy over their bodies and families while making deeply personal pregnancy decisions. The review frames care as an ethical tension between patient safety and reproductive choice. Reproductive autonomy includes decisions about whether, when, and how to space pregnancies and how to access comprehensive reproductive healthcare. Women often felt CHD reduced their control over whether and how they could have children. Declining fertility should not justify limiting or coercing use of contraception, abortion, or infertility services. Medical risk sometimes limited what healthcare teams could support.
