The tool's preparedness self-assessment checklist generates a visual heat map that highlights areas of weakness and strength in the user's specific context. The tool explicitly defines resilience, provides clear user guidance, and is designed to facilitate collective self-assessment among professionals within the same organisation or region. The tool was codeveloped participatorily by the RESIL-Card Consortium and an Advisory Board that included patient representatives. The RESIL-Card tool is designed for use by healthcare professionals in hospital settings and is composed of four components. A pilot phase to evaluate and refine the tool's practical applicability began in early 2025 in European hospitals.
