The REP links inpatient and outpatient records across five healthcare institutions in Olmsted County, enabling comprehensive longitudinal tracking. Mean follow-up for the cohort was approximately 7 years. The study excluded patients with no confirmed suicidal ideation, intent, or plan; those outside the 2–12 age range; duplicates; and those whose index visit note could not be located. 637 children with STBs were identified from an average annual population of 28,035 children across Olmsted County healthcare settings.
