Rural and Northern Communities

French-language access inequities were most severe in rural and northern communities. Travel burdens were higher in rural than urban areas and higher in northern than southern areas for both linguistic groups. Fragility is especially relevant in rural and remote regions because small numbers of physicians may serve whole communities.
