Capillary tubes are faster than dried blood spot cards and are described as about 99% accurate. Dried blood spot cards are described as stable enough for international shipping but slower to process than capillary tubes. Cortisol is presented as more consistently measured in saliva than in blood. Dried blood spot cards use finger-prick blood dried on paper and can be mailed without temperature control. Urine-based panels are currently limited to the United States, with dried urine formats under development for international availability.
