Search and Study Selection

Two reviewers will independently screen titles and abstracts and assess full texts against eligibility criteria. Preliminary searches found no current or underway umbrella reviews on the topic. Database searches were conducted on 16 October 2025 in Medline, Embase, and Global Health using outreach and eye health search terms. Two reviewers will independently screen titles, abstracts, and full texts, with disagreements resolved through discussion with a third reviewer. A grey literature search will use outreach or mobile terms combined with eye care, eye clinic, eye screening, or vision screening terms. Grey literature screening will start with the first 20 results and may extend in increments of 10 up to 50 results until conceptual saturation is reached. The review uses a three-step JBI search strategy. Two independent reviewers screen titles and abstracts, and three reviewers conduct full-text assessment. All citations are imported into Rayyan AI for de-duplication and blinded conflict handling.
