Self-rated health is a single-question measure of perceived overall health. The prevailing state of mediocre health becomes evident in how the majority respond to "How are you?" with phrases like "alright" or "not too bad." The relationship between self-rated health and blood pressure control has been underexplored, especially in Iran. How people answer the question "How are you?" serves as a diagnostic indicator of the widespread mediocre health state. Self-rated health reflects physical, psychological, and social dimensions of health. The study supports adding EQ-VAS self-rated health screening to routine hypertension management to identify vulnerable patients.
