Sensory Impairment in Older Adults

Over half a million people in the UK live with both sight and hearing loss, meeting the statutory definition of deafblind. Visual impairment in the UK is projected to rise from 2.8 million to 4 million people by 2050. By 2035, one in three people in the UK will experience hearing impairment. Older people with sensory impairment are disproportionately affected by multimorbidity and are more likely to live alone.
