Small Farming Economics

Conventional grocery supply chains return only a small share of consumer spending to farmers. Many small farmers cannot make a living from farming alone. Livestock care can require substantial labor even at small scale. Low farm income can make it difficult for interested small farmers to stay in farming full time.
