Source Remediation

Air filtration, ventilation, and deep dust cleaning are framed as temporary exposure-reduction steps for people who cannot immediately remediate or relocate. Bleach is not presented as an adequate solution for porous mold-contaminated building materials. Long-term resolution requires identifying and correcting the water-damaged mold source. Deep cleaning in a mold-affected space can stir up particles, so mask use during cleaning is presented as appropriate.
