Vasopressor infusion begins concurrently with the intrathecal injection and continues until surgical closure. In this trial, spinal anaesthesia is performed with 12 mg of 0.75% ropivacaine at the L2–L3 or L3–L4 intervertebral space. Surgery proceeds only after confirming achievement of a T4 dermatomal block level. Spinal anaesthesia-induced hypotension during caesarean section necessitates vasopressor infusion to maintain haemodynamic stability.
