Suicide Audit

The earlier Québec youth audit recommended stronger care coordination, continuity, training, protocols, and service access. Canadian suicide audits have been inconsistent and have mainly focused on adults. A previous Québec youth suicide audit found complex clinical and psychosocial profiles among young people who died by suicide. A suicide audit is presented as a structured quality-improvement review process for identifying risk and protective factors across multiple levels. The suicide audit method is considered relevant in Québec because a coroner recommended systematic suicide audits in health and social service institutions.
