Surrogate Testing

Hip rotation is treated more as a comparison measure than a primary online decision-making test. A surrogate test approximates information that would usually be gathered through hands-on in-person assessment. Test-retest logic compares a movement or symptom-provoking task before and after an intervention to judge change. Gait is not treated as a strong primary online decision-making test because it has too many interacting parts. Online testing favors visible movements that show whether a person can access a movement pattern under constraints.
