Participants had to meet Chen Internet Addiction Scale thresholds that differed by school year. Adolescents are described as particularly vulnerable to internet addiction because of development, digital familiarity, and immature regulation. The participant group consisted of Taiwanese junior college students from a northern Taiwan junior college with campuses in Xindian and Yilan. The final sample included 15 interviewed students selected until data saturation occurred.
