The drill uses a book or similarly low platform. One foot is elevated while the opposite foot is placed slightly farther forward. Most body weight should be loaded through the heel of the elevated foot. The webspace of the hand should be positioned directly over the ankle joint. The foot should be placed in a relatively neutral position for the technique. Most body weight should be placed on the front foot at setup. The drill begins from a tall standing position. The hands should be held in a guarded dukes-up position.
