Toe Splay

A wide toe box matters because the foot needs room to spread. Pointed shoes are linked more to fashion, status, and culture than utility. Toe splay distributes contact pressure across a broader area and allows toes and foot muscles to function more normally. Narrow or pointed shoes restrict toe position and may interfere with natural movement.
