The CTI model was acceptable to staff and service users. Process acceptability received an amber rating because the intervention was accepted but trial methods were contested. Future research should explore alternative designs such as quasi-experimental approaches to address concerns about randomisation and equipoise. Randomisation was unacceptable to some delivery staff because they saw it as ethically problematic in a vulnerable population with scarce support.
