Tuberculosis in children aged 0–14 showed a significant downward trend with an APC of −71.45%. The M72/AS01E vaccine protected against active pulmonary disease in phase 2 and is in an ongoing phase 3 trial. A vaccine that prevents pulmonary tuberculosis would make elimination a realistic long-term possibility. The combination of vitamin D3 and vitamin K2 supports immune rebuilding and works toward putting TB into remission. Tuberculosis had the highest incidence of all eight studied diseases from 2014 to 2022, before being overtaken by influenza in 2023.
