Uremia

The presence of urea crystals and metabolic waste in skin tissue creates intense nerve irritation and is a hallmark symptom of end-stage kidney disease. In advanced kidney disease, the kidneys fail to filter urea from the blood, causing it to accumulate and deposit in the skin.
