Virtual Wards

The NHS England model defines five core components for virtual wards. NHS England launched a national virtual ward programme in April 2022 with up to £450 million in funding. Virtual wards deliver acute inpatient-level clinical care to patients in their usual residence. Virtual wards can prevent hospital admission or enable early discharge.
