Volunteer Interventions

Volunteer-based interventions are presented as a way to mitigate delirium, functional decline, and related harms in hospitalised older adults. In inpatient and transitional care settings, MAUVE used individualized patient care plans based on patient needs. In the emergency department, MAUVE interventions were based on verbal recommendations from coordinators and nursing staff. MAUVE volunteers delivered up to six standardised intervention types across care settings.
