Work was the arena where benefits from at-home SCIg were most strongly and consistently reported. Some patients were freed from formal employer reimbursement agreements and gained control over whether to disclose their medical condition to their employer. One full-time working PID patient had previously spent an entire day every three weeks on clinic travel and attendance. Time savings derived from three sources: elimination of travel time, elimination of clinic waiting time, and shorter per-treatment duration compared with IVIg.
